What happens if it snows?

The Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event will take place rain or shine. We suggest that you come prepared for inclement weather.

Where do I get the shoes?

We have a wide selection of shoes available with the conversion from female sizing to male. After you check-in at the event you will be prompted to select a pair of shoes to suit your personality.

What if I have cash or cheque donations?

Cash or cheque donations are considered "Offline Donations".

Offline donors must complete the offline donation form in order to receive a tax receipt. The form must be complete and legible. 

Registered participants, enter your cash and/or cheque donations through your dashboard so that these offline donations are reflected online in your total raised.

Please send your completed offline donation forms with the cash or cheque donations to the YWCA or bring them to the event. DO NOT MAIL CASH

The YWCA of Calgary will issue a tax receipt once we receive the donation and the corresponding offline donation form. Please ensure that the offline donation form is complete and legible.

Where do we check-in on the day?

Check-in will be clearly sign posted at Olympic Plaza, Calgary. There will also be volunteers available to give directions and answer your questions.

What should I wear?

You can wear whatever you like. Many people come from the office so are in suits or business casual, other people choose to dress up. Visit the Photo Gallery  to view pictures from last year's walk.

How do I make a donation?

You can make a donation to the walk's general fund or to a specific walker. Search for an individual or "General Fund" and then click on "Support Me". Donations made online will immediately be applied to the individual's fundraising goal.
PLEASE NOTE that you cannot donate to a team only individuals on the team. Click here to search and donate.

How do I create or join a team?

Part of the registration process prompts you to create a team. The individual who creates the team automatically becomes the Team Captain. Click here to register.

Where your dollars go?

Your donations provide direct opportunities for women and children to stabilize their lives and move from crisis to economic stability, through the programs and services that the YWCA of Calgary provides. Click here for more information on where your dollars go.

Tax receipts?

The YWCA of Calgary is a registered charity (#10822 7927 RR0001). When you make a donation of $20 or more you will receive a tax receipt. Click here for more details on tax receipts.
